Local Scrutiny Panels – progress so far

Residents get involved in our new LSPs
Our new Local Scrutiny Panels (LSPs) have got off to a great start.
Four of our Local Scrutiny Panels are now up and running:
- Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster
- Hammersmith & Fulham
- West London
- South London.
30 residents attended the Hammersmith & Fulham Panel and the Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster Panel meetings.
They reviewed local performance and provided feedback on service areas including repairs, estate management and voids.
All four Panels have completed their LSP training, and held their first formal meeting.
We have appointed resident Chairs for the Hammersmith & Fulham Panel and the Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster Panel and they recently chaired the second meeting of these Panels.
Staff are now working on some of the residents' suggestions.
Following one of the meetings a resident told us:
"It was great to get clear answers to our questions...It was a very interactive meeting".

North London Panel update
Unfortunately we have only received a limited response so far from residents wanting to join the North London Panel. We are now hoping to roll out this Panel in October 2012. In the meantime we are continuing to recruit residents and want to hear from you!
We would particularly like to hear from you if you live in, Barnet, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.
If you would like to join the North London Panel you will need to submit an application and attend an informal interview.
All successful candidates will receive training in preparation for their role as LSP members.
What's in it for me?
Involvement in the LSPs is a great way for you to get to know other residents in your area and learn new skills. You will find out more about how our services are delivered in your area.
You will also have the opportunity to comment and where necessary, challenge our performance and play a key role in helping us to improve.
Get in touch with our Resident Involvement Team to find out more.

What are LSPs?
The LSPs offer permanent rented housing and leasehold residents the opportunity to scrutinise and challenge how we deliver services in their local area.
They meet up to five times a year. Each panel is supported by housing managers who work in the local area.
