Notting Hill Housing's eco-aware 'Fabrik' named runner up at awards ceremony
25 April 2012
Notting Hill Home Ownership is thrilled to announce that its unique, sustainable development 'Fabrik' has been named Runner Up in the 'Most Eco-Aware Project' category at the First Time Buyer Awards.
Launched in Brixton last year, Fabrik's innovative, eco-friendly features and use of a radical new green building technique proved a big hit with buyers, with over 70% of the homes being reserved within the first six months.
Built in partnership with leading developer Skanska using a pioneering low energy construction solution known as Modernahus, the development boasts homes that are 44% more energy efficient than their traditional equivalents, providing buyers with a more eco-friendly and cost effective way of living in central London.
The scheme is doubly attractive because shares of between 35% and 75% are available to purchase through Shared Ownership, meaning that first-time buyers are able to take a step onto the 'green' property ladder with a 35% share of a three-bedroom home available from as little as £104,125.
The collection of one, two and three bedroom apartments pushes the boundaries in terms of design, quality and energy efficiency, with a broad selection of eco-features, from water efficient fittings and energy-saving under floor heating, to central biomass boilers. Further innovative elements, ranging from bike stores and a car club to allotment spaces, support residents in reducing their energy consumption and their fuel costs.
