Bike projects

How do you teach kids about patience, hard work and give them self esteem? Tell them to get a bike.

To date the projects have helped over 1,000 young people learn essential skills and get healthy by giving them something to care about and something to build on.

Teach not preach

Many of our estates are blighted by anti social behaviour, much of it coming from young people with nothing to do or nowhere to go.

We know teaching young people is not easy. We also know it's better to teach them to help themselves than to preach to them. Our bike project does just that.

Recycling scheme

With Cycle Training UK (CTUK), we use damaged and dumped bikes, teach cycle maintenance, and then show young people how to use the bikes safely on the roads.

In an area where there isn't much to do, the bike project has, every year, been a huge success, drawing more and more young people to it, showing kids talents that they never knew they had.
