Property maintenance and repairs

As a leaseholder you are responsible for some types of repair and maintenance, while others are the responsibility of the freeholder.

The freeholder's responsibilities

The building you live in is owned by a freeholder who is responsible for insuring the building and managing, maintaining and delivering day-to-day services. This may include providing cleaning and gardening services and maintaining the communal areas of the building.

The cost of providing these services is covered by the service charge you pay to your freeholder or managing agent.

Property management

If you live in a building owned and managed by Notting Hill Home Ownership (NHHO), our Property Management Team will usually be responsible for managing the services in your building.

If you live in a building that is not owned by NHHO, these services will be provided by your freeholder or managing agent.
