Transfers

Permanent rented housing tenants can use the Locata choice-based lettings scheme to transfer to another Notting Hill Housing property.

Locata is a choice-based lettings scheme used by many councils and housing associations in west London. If you are interested in transferring to another property you must 'bid' for it through Locata.

Properties available for rent are advertised in a fortnightly magazine called Locata HOME which is available on the Locata website.

How to register

Before you can bid for a property you need to register with Locata:

How to bid

Full details of how to bid can be found in the Locata scheme user guide. We'll give you a copy when you register with us or you can view the guide on the Locata website.

You can bid for any property advertised in the Notting Hill Housing section of Locata HOME magazine or properties on the 'cross borough' page.

You can also bid for a property on another housing association's page, although tenants of that housing association will get priority. Sometimes you can bid for a property on the page for your local authority but you'll need to check your eligibility with them.

Property viewings

Once bidding has closed, the highest priority tenants who have submitted bids are placed on a shortlist. If you are on this list you will be invited to view the property. The property will be offered to the person with the highest priority who wants the property.

If you owe rent or legal action is being taken against you, you will not normally be invited to a viewing.

Priority bands

Everyone on Locata is assigned to one of four priority bands (A, B, C or D) based on their housing need. The person with the highest priority is the person in band A who has been registered for the longest time. The person with the lowest priority is the person in band D who has registered mostly recently.

Results

All properties that have been let are listed on the feedback page of Locata HOME. This page also tells you how many people bid for a property, what band they were in and the registration date of the successful bidder.
