Gas safety
Permanent rented housing: making sure your gas appliances are safe is an important service we provide.
By law, we are required to check the gas boilers, cookers and appliances of our permanent rented housing tenants every year.
These gas safety checks are free for tenants in permanent rented housing.
Gas safety inspection
Annual gas safety inspections make sure that your gas appliances are safe to use and are working efficiently.
If your current inspection certificate is more than 10 months old, or if you are aware that there has not been a safety inspection at your home for more than 10 months, contact the Gas Safety Team on 020 8357 5151 so we can arrange an inspection.
Appointments
When you have an inspection appointment booked in, make sure that someone is available to let the contractor into your home.
Many people do not appreciate how important the safety inspection is and are not available when we have made appointments to carry out the inspection. If this happens, we have to take legal action so we can carry out our responsibilities and we may charge you for our legal costs.
