Keisha

Keisha had been unemployed for five years since the birth of her youngest child and was referred to In2Work.

Keisha felt that she needed current employment experience on her CV and felt a work placement would help.

She was referred to In2Work by her Job Centre Plus advisor in 2010. She was allocated an In2Work personal advisor and given a work placement application form to complete.

Job search

Whilst completing her placement, Keisha was encouraged and supported to continue with searching for employment opportunities.

By broadening her horizons, Keisha applied not only for administration jobs, but also for jobs where she would utilise the skills she had acquired naturally, like childcare.

Keisha was shortlisted for interviews with several employers.

Help to prepare

To prepare for the interview, she worked with her advisor to answer standard interview questions and receive useful tips – such as making sure she spoke clearly and had good eye contact with her interviewer.

Keisha is now working in a local nursery as an administrator.
