Harrow EMI

We provide support in your home in Harrow for older people with mental health needs, including dementia.

The service is funded by Supporting People and provides housing-related support, including:

  • sustaining existing accommodation – providing support with rent payments, utilities, reporting repairs, dealing with correspondence
  • maximising and maintaining income – benefit checks, budgeting advice, accessing charitable grants
  • advocating on someone's behalf investigating housing options
  • looking into activities in the community such as day centres, courses, voluntary work sign posting people to other services.

We don't provide personal care or do shopping or housework, but we can help people access these services if they need them.

Eligibility criteria

The service is available to people who:

  • are aged 65 and above have mental health needs
  • live in the London Borough of Harrow
  • are assessed as able and willing to live independently with support
  • have a demonstrable need for housing-related support to help set up, maintain or prevent the loss of their accommodation and/or independenceare willing to work with a support worker on an outcome-focussed support plan.
