Mental health needs

Notting Hill Pathways provides support in your home for adults with mental health issues (including dementia) living in Barnet, Hounslow, and Kensington and Chelsea.

We call support in your home 'floating support'.

Who do we support?

You can use our floating support service if you have long term mental health disabilities or if you have support needs because of drug and/or alcohol use.

You'll need to be living in, or moving, into your own home but you don't need to be a Notting Hill Housing tenant.

Accommodation-based support

We also provide accommodation-based mental health support in Kensington and Chelsea.

How long will I get support?

Generally we provide support for about two years but this can be shorter or longer depending on your needs.

What type of support will I get?

Our mental health support service is structured around your needs and what you what to achieve. We'll draw up a support plan with you so you know what to expect.

You'll also be assigned a Support Officer who will work closely with other statutory and voluntary organisations (like social services or health services) to help promote your recovery and independence.

As we work with you, you'll notice that we put a lot of emphasis on your rights and responsibilities as well as encouraging you to respect yourself and others. This means we encourage you to tackle issues for yourself when you can. We know that you may at times be distressed and unwell, and will require more practical support at these times.

Through a combination of practical and emotional support we have helped people with:

  • maintaining their tenancies
  • budgeting and debt management
  • benefits
  • dealing with letters and forms
  • housing transfer applications
  • moving home
  • accessing other services
  • taking part in activities outside the home
  • arranging home improvements.

How can I apply for support?

If you would like our support please contact use. We'll then speak to other professionals, for example your Housing Officer or Community Mental Health Nurse, to assess your needs.

Once we have all the information we need it normally takes about two weeks before you hear back from us.

How much does it cost?

There is no charge to you for our mental health support service.
