Harassment
If you are experiencing racial, sexual or any other form of harassment, we will investigate and provide support.
We take cases of harassment very seriously. You can be confident that we will investigate the report thoroughly and that we will work to achieve a positive outcome wherever possible.
What is harassment?
Harassment is any deliberate act that interferes with the peace, comfort or safety of an individual or group because of their race, colour, religious belief, ethnic or national origin (racial harassment), their gender or sexuality (sexual harassment), their disability (disability harassment), their age, appearance or other personal attributes.
Harassment can occur in many forms and incidents can be subtle or blatant. Examples of harassment include:
- abusive language
- abusive or threatening behaviour
- physical assault
- damage to property
- graffiti
- behaviour that interferes with peaceful occupation of the home.

How to report harassment
If you are suffering from harassment, contact us on 020 8357 4501. We will interview you within 72 hours of you reporting the harassment.
The interview
During the interview we will take details of the incident and agree an action plan with you. We will investigate the circumstances and, with your consent, will interview the person responsible. We may also speak to other witnesses. We will always follow strict confidentiality guidelines during the investigation.
What happens next?
We will keep in regular contact with you and will monitor the action plan we agreed with you. If this does not work we will revise the plan and try to find other ways of solving the problem.
While we hope preventative action will be effective in most cases, we will use legal enforcement action when required, providing we have sufficient evidence to support our case in court.
We rely on complainants and other witnesses working with us, so you and other witnesses may be asked to speak at court hearings.
