Choice based lettings

Locata is a West London choice based letting scheme available to everyone who is in permanent rented housing (social housing).

Locata allows you to choose homes from other councils and housing associations.

How Locata works

Every two weeks available properties are advertised on Locata. If you are interested in a property you make a bid for it.

Once bidding has closed a shortlist of the highest priority tenants (e.g. The person with the most urgent housing need) will be drawn up and invited to view the property.

The highest priority tenant who wants the property will be offered it.

Rent arrears or legal action

Normally if you are behind in rent payments or legal action is being taken against you, you will not be invite to property viewings.

Who is part of the Locata scheme

Notting Hill is a member of the Locata scheme along with 11 other housing associations and six councils.

The six councils in the scheme are:

  • Brent
  • Ealing
  • Hammersmith & Fulham
  • Harrow
  • Hillingdon
  • Hounslow.
