Harold Hill regeneration

19 July 2010

Notting Hill Housing Trust and Countryside Properties have been appointed by Havering Council to build 181 new homes.

More homes for Hilldene

The homes will be built on the 7.2 acre former sheltered housing sites at Darlington and Chippenham Gardens in Hilldene, Harold Hill, Essex.

Demolition of the rundown buildings is expected to start during the summer while work on the new development is due to start in 2011.

Mixed tenure development

The sites will provide mainly affordable homes for rent and shared ownership, together with homes for private sale.

This much-needed mixed tenure development will be delivered with financial support from the Homes and Communities Agency.

Developing London wide

John Hughes, Group Development Director from Notting Hill Housing said:

"We are very pleased with this opportunity to work with the Council and local residents to reinvigorate the area for the benefit of the whole community in Harold Hill.

"Notting Hill Housing is no longer just a West London organisation. We want to work with communities across the capital to provide new places to live that relate to the local context and enhance the neighbourhood."
